SPORTS
First of all we must say that we really appreciate the way Bet365 decided to separate the website categories to avoid cluttering the interface. When you first access bet365.com you will see all the main website categories laid out in small boxes, sports being the top one. This is a huge thumbs up in our book! In the sports section you will find all the sports in the left side of the screen, some quick links to matches in the middle and the betting slip is placed a usual on the right side of the screen. The numbers of sports that are available in this category are fairly vast and it’s super easy to find what you are looking for compared to other betting platforms from the online space. Just to mention a few sports, on Bet365 you can find: Football (Soccer on the website), Basketball, Golf, Horse Racing, Snooker, Motor Sports, Darts, Cycling, Cricket and a few special ones like Lotto, Financials or E-Sports. The betting experience is standard for the most part. You have to click on the sport on which the bet will be placed. Here you will see all the competitions (from different countries also), championships and so on, then click on the odds for the matches you want to place an investment.
Like on any other betting platform, the match or matches will appear on the betting slip and from there the bet is almost placed. If you are not sure about the matches or what bets you want to place, next to the teams or athletes name competing (varies from bet to bet) you will see a chart icon. As of now, it’s one of the best interfaces we’ve seen in a sports betting platform. The sports and matches are not cluttered what so ever, the betting process and quick and easy as you would expect and the statistics makes your betting strategy a whole lot better. But what if pre-match betting is not really your thing? No worries! There is no need for a platform switch!
Right in the Sports category there is an In Play button for Live betting. The numbers of sports and matches that are available here is somewhat limited and can vary in number from day to day, but as you may or may know, this is expected. The sports available for live betting are: Football (Soccer on the website), Basketball, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, Snooker and Volleyball.
When you click on sport type, a list of competitions appears and the time remaining is displayed in the left side of the competition, also the betting odds are placed on the right. Let’s take as an example a football match: when you click on the live match, in the middle of the screen are the odds with some helpful information regarding Yellow card, Red cards, goals, penalties and in the right side of the screen there is a small fiend. Underneath it you can see the attacks, dangerous attacks and possession in points/percentage for each team.
Also for some of the matches there is a live video feed available. This is a huge plus from our point of view! Not many online sports betting websites offer this option and we see it as a very nice addition. Unfortunately the client is only available for Windows but if you have a Mac or a Linux machine there are some ways you can run Windows applications on them (use Google to get informed). The game types and tournaments are listed on the right side of the screen, as it is on many Poker clients and the available tables appear in the middle. Joining a table is just a matter of a few clicks. Is simple as that! Also directly from the client you have the possibility to access the Casino section.
In large, Bet365 Poker experience is good, it doesn’t have anything special but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The main disadvantage here is the fact that you can enjoy a table of Poker only you you have a Windows machine. The non techie user will not bother with the process of making it work on Mac and Linux, they will simply move along. But this doesn’t mean that in the near futures we won’t see a Poker client available for Mac, Linux or even better, a browser based client. A workaround for those that don’t own a Windows computer is the mobile app or the mobile website. It’s not the full fledged client but is better than nothing.
